Ordinance No. 04-39.
A CDD is a local unit of special-purpose government governed by Chapter 190, Florida Statutes. The purpose of the Dupree Lakes CDD is to finance, fund, plan, design, establish, acquire, construct or reconstruct, enlarge or extend, equip, operate and maintain various public infrastructure improvements and community facilities to the benefit of the residents within the District boundaries.
The CDD is governed by a five (5) member board of supervisors. They are elected by the registered voters within the District during a general election; the same as Pasco County Commissioners. Each member serves a 4-year term and is governed by the State of Florida and The Florida Sunshine Laws and Disclosures of an elected public official.
The District provides resort level facilities, infrastructure, common grounds and services. These fixtures, including the maintenance thereof and services are funded via property owner assessments, added to the annual property tax bill from Pasco county. The elected Board and contracted management company budget for and manage the District’s facilities, common grounds, landscaping and services.
